What is this Punjabi Typing Test?

This Punjabi typing test uses “Gurmukhi Font” (Raavi font), which is widely required in Punjab state recruitment exams conducted by the PSSSB Official Portal. The user can check their Punjabi typing speed and accuracy. We provide two modes: practice mode and exam mode. How Many Types of Punjabi Typing Are There?

To type Punjabi, typing can be done in two ways.

Phonetic typing-

In this typing, words are not written directly in the Punjabi language but are based on Pinglish patterns. As the name suggests, Pinglish is a combination of the words Punjab and English. By using this pattern, you type in English rather than directly in Punjabi, yet the words appear in the Punjabi script.

For example, if you write Waheguru, it appears as ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ.

For Punjabi typing, typing can be done in this manner in the beginning, and this method of typing is better for your personal use & social media use. But this method is not valid in competitive examinations; for exams, it is done in the manner given below.

Ravi/Anmollipi/inscript Font -

This uses a traditional keyboard layout. It uses the Inscript layout. Punjabi is typed in Gurmukhi script. In the examinations held in Punjab and Haryana, official typing is done on this pattern, in which one has to type without looking at the keyboard.

Set Up Your Keyboard Layout & System

To set up Punjabi language typing on mobile, we need a typing keyboard with Gurmukhi Unicode.

For this, we install Google Gboard or Desh Punjabi Keyboard, etc., on our mobile phone.

After this, you have to press the settings button of the downloaded keyboard. Go to the settings button and select the language on the keyboard. For this, you will select the Punjabi-QWERTY keyboard. Now your mobile is ready for typing in the Punjabi language. Apart from this, you can also choose the Pinglish language in the language settings of the keyboard. with this option, you type using English characters, but the output appears in Punjabi.

For this, in one part of the keyboard there are vowels, in one part there are consonants, in one part there are matras. This is done so that you can easily reach the latest.

If you remember this part while typing, typing will be easier, and keep in mind all the key maps of Punjabi characters.

To learn Punjabi typing, you need to make a daily routine. A daily routine is provided below. According to me, you can learn Punjabi typing in 3 weeks. For this, make a rule of typing for 25 to 30 minutes every day and never break it. vnow

Day 1 to Day 5

In the initial days, just practice characters of the Punjabi alphabet. You need to practice typing the alphabet for five days. For the first one or two days, you will face difficulty in typing Punjabi characters on the keyboard, but later, by the fifth day, you will develop a good understanding of typing vowels.

Day 6 to Day 10

If we talk about increasing speed, then first we have to increase our typing accuracy.

You have to work on accuracy for 10 to 15 days. For this, you have to practice daily. When the accuracy becomes stable, then the speed will automatically start increasing.

While typing Punjabi, do not look at the keyboard at all. In the time you spend looking at the keyboard, you can write one or two extra words. Avoiding this bad habit helps boost your speed.
